Kathleen Bauer

Assistant to the Associate Provost for Academic, Information and Instructional Technology Affairs

Kati Bauer assists the Associate Provost, James Hilton, as the Information Technology (IT) liaison for the University, answering questions and arranging for assistance when it is needed. She helps review and makes recommendations on IT policies. Additionally, she worked with the team that created a new University-wide copyright policy and a web site that focuses on copyright issues, advice, and concerns. She is currently involved with a committee looking at spoofed and spammed email, and another that will look at issues of privacy that may affect UM students, faculty and staff.

No stranger to the world of IT, Kati worked for the University's chief information officer from 1997 to 2001. Prior to that, she worked for the Information Technology Division for nine years in various roles. Kati also worked for University Audits for six years—coordinating the University's Standard Practice Guide. All-in-all, Kati has worked for the University for a total of 27 years.

Kati holds an Associate's degree in Construction Management, occasionally working with her husband and his privately-owned construction corporation located in Chelsea, Michigan.
