SuSE Linux

University of Michigan Faculty, Staff and Students are now licensed for SuSE Linux Enterprise Server under our current Novell Academic License Agreement at no additional cost. The terms of the agreement are for use of the products for covered users only. Covered users include those at the Ann Arbor, Flint, and Dearborn campuses.

SuSE Linux Enterprise Server Downloads
The ISO images for SuSE Linux Enterprise Server have been downloaded to a local server for campus distribution. The iso's are also available directly from Novell at Novell Downloads

Updates and Support
We now have a local repository of updates for SLES version 9.  To obtain updates to SLES 9 from this local repository, you must create a new server within the YaST Online Update utility.  Choose HTTP and enter slesyou.umich.edu as the server name and YOU as the Directory on the Server.  Leave the authentication set to Anonymous.
