Depending on what version of iManager you have used in the past, and if you have used RBS, you need to either migrate an existing RBS 1.0 role to the 2.0 version which the MyServer iManager uses, or create a new RBS 2.0 collection.
For information on how to migrate a RBS collection, take a look at:
http://www.novell.com/documentation/imanager25/index.html?page=/documentation/imanager25/imanager_install_25/data/bob1w5j.html.
- Log into iManager
- Click on the "configure" button (looks like a person behind a desk)
- Under "Role Based Services" on the left, click on "RBS Configuration"
- Under the "2.x Collections", click "New", and then "Collection and Setup"
- Name the collection, and specify where the collection should live (i.e. if you have a services or management container I would place it there).
- Click "Next"
- All the "Modules to be installed:" should already be selected.
The scope will determine what containers the role assignees can perform tasks in. Check the Inheritable box only if you want to perform tasks in all of the subcontainers of the container you specify. Note: the RBS collections do not really assign rights, so for example while you could assign this collection to the SI container, RBS would prevent you from using the roles in the SNRE container, and your lack of eDirectory rights would prevent you from applying any of the tasks in the SI container.
- Click "Start". The wizard will create the RBS collection and 'install' the role's modules (=associate the plugins that are on the server, which you selected in step 7 with the collection you are creating).
- When the wizard completes you may get a 602 error, but the collection should have still finished successfully. Click "Close.
- You should now have all the roles and tasks that you selected in step 7. Click on the "Roles and Tasks" button (2nd button to the left of the configure, person behind the desk, button).
