ITCS LAN/NOS Groupware Services

This page contains information about products and services provided by the LAN/NOS and Groupware Services (LNGS) team. LNGS is a group within ITCS  that provides leadership for the UM campus community in the selection, adoption, deployment, and integration of Network Operating Systems and Groupware products. Novell

The campus Novell/eDirectory environment offers a campus infrastructure that units can leverage to provide their own services to their users. This page describes the environment and helps you to use its power.

MyServer

If you'd like to have someone else manage shared filespace for your unit, you might want to consider this service. It runs on secure NetWare and gives the unit the ability to manage users and space.

Windows

The campus Windows/Active Directory environment offers another campus infrastructure that units can leverage to provide their own services to their users. This page describes the environment and helps you to use its power.

Exchange

The ITCS Exchange Service gives campus units the option of providing a rich, integrated email/calendaring experience to their users. These pages describe the service, and the ways in which you may use it.

Connected Backup

This is our Windows workstation and server backup and disaster recovery service that employs technology from Connected Corporation. The service is available to faculty and staff only through their department IT administrator.

Meeting Maker

PeopleCube's Meeting Maker is a real-time, cross-platform calendaring & scheduling solution. ITCS both manages a campus Meetingmaker license to allow units to run their own service and runs a central service for cross-unit scheduling.
