Note: Linux computers configured as a single-user desktop may now be licensed from the Windows license pool. This is a significant savings over the cost of a Linux license used in a multi-user (server) configuration. Linux machines configured for multi-user use must still be licensed via the consortium discussed below.

Description: Statistics software for applications development and data access, management, analysis, and presentation
Expiration Date: Each license must be renewed annually:
  • AIX on 11/30
  • SUN on 2/28
  • Linux Server on 8/14
Who Is Eligible: U-M departments only
Personal Use: May not be purchased for use on a personally owned computer
Cost: License cost is dependent upon the number of licenses requested each year. Send e-mail to lic.itcs@umich.edu for current pricing information. CD-ROMs are $25/AIX set and $40/Solaris set.
Renewals/Upgrades:
Ordering Information: These licenses are purchased on a consortium basis. Consortium members are notified of the renewal schedule at the approriate time. Departments desiring to join the consortium may do so at the renewal anniversary, or may purchase licenses via custom quote at other times during the year and then be included in the consortium when the renewal date is reached.
