ITCS has listened and responded to requests for a more modern webmail interface. Known as Maize, it's an alternative to ITCS's popular original webmail interface, now called Blue. Both are available at http://webmail.umich.edu.

The ITCS Webmail team considers Maize — though fully functional — a work in progress. They plan to continue improving it and actively encourage users to send feedback and feature requests to webmail@umich.edu.
Although Blue provides a very powerful set of features, many users have criticized it for its less-than-modern interface. But for those who need its advanced features, it remains the gold-standard.
ITCS will continue to offer both Maize and Blue for the foreseeable future. Log in to either at http://webmail.umich.edu.
