September 24, 2007

Mark Weishan, telecommunications manager for the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA), has announced that wireless coverage has been extended to seven additional LSA buildings. The wireless network installation was done by ITCS.

The seven buildings with new wireless networking are

  • Angell/Tisch Halls
  • C. C. Little
  • East Hall
  • Lorch Hall
  • Randall Lab
  • Tappan Hall
  • West Hall

LSA buildings with previously existing wireless coverage are:

  • LSA Building
  • Mason Hall
  • Modern Languages Building (basement, first, and second floors)
  • Thayer Building
  • Undergraduate Science Building

"The new installations are the best of next generation wireless technology," wrote Weishan in a message to LSA IT staff.

In addition, wireless was installed this summer in all student rooms in Markley Hall, which houses approximately 1,200 undergraduates.
