The site Mac OS X @ University of Michigan contains a wealth of information and resources about using Mac OS X at the University of Michigan. ITCS Educational Services also offers classes on learning to use Mac OS X.

In addition, the University has a very active e-mail group entitled MacSIG, the Macintosh Special Interest Group. MacSIG is geared towards Mac system administrators and support personnel at the University, though anyone can join. See the MacSIG page for full details.

Purchasing Mac OS X

Purchasing Apple Hardware & Software

Campus departments and individuals may purchase Macintosh computers and a wide range of Apple software at the University of Michigan, often with significant discounts:

  • Purchase Macintosh computers, accessories, peripherals, supplies from the Computer Showcase

  • Purchase Microsoft Office plus "shrinkwrap" software (software packages containing installation media and manual) from the Computer Showcase

  • Faculty & staff using departmental funds are eligible to purchase some software at heavily discounted prices from ITCS Software Licensing & Distribution

Technical Support for Mac OS X

ITCS offers the full range of its technical support services for users of Mac OS X 10.3.9 and higher.
