Mac OS X Resources

The campus has many fine Windows resources. But the U-M also has a long tradition of Apple support and sports a big Mac community. Whether you're considering switching, are new to Mac computers, or are a Mac person from way back, there are plenty of Apple-related resources on campus to help you.

Researching & Buying Computers

Talk to the folks at the U-M Computer Showcase. Their primary mission is consulting before sales, so they can give you no-pressure advice that won't favor one platform over another. They also offer academic discounts.

Departments: The Showcase can still advise you, but see their web page regarding purchasing procedures.

Computer Support & Repair

Need a virus removed? OS upgraded? Hardware installed? The ITS Computer Support & Repair Service can do this and more.

Need actual repair? The ITS Computer Support & Repair Service provides full warranty and out-of-warranty hardware and software repairs on Apple and Dell computers.

Both U-M individuals and departments can use the service.

Campus Coordination

If you have questions or suggestions regarding issues of Mac coordination on campus, please send e-mail to the Mac OS Coordinator.

(Please note: this page lists only resources known to exist on the Ann Arbor campus. There are often off-campus resources as well; check your local phone directory or Internet search engine.)
