Exchange General FAQ: Calendaring

How does Exchange compare with Meeting Maker?

By using Outlook (Windows) or Entourage (Mac OS X), Exchange integrates your calendar management, e-mail, and other useful features. Exchange also features a built-in Global Address List (GAL) that shows everyone at the University of Michigan. You can use the GAL to send calendar invitations and e-mail. You can invite anyone at U-M and your personal address book to meetings. People who do not use your Exchange service will receive an e-mail invitation.

Meeting Maker users cannot coordinate their calendar with their e-mail, and they can only propose meetings to other Meeting Maker users.

When you're away from campus, you can access most of Exchange's features on the web using Outlook Web Access (OWA). The services mentioned in the second paragraph are also available on the web but must be accessed separately.
