Getting a Uniqname—
U-M Hospitals Staff
Medical Center Information Technology (MCIT) creates uniqnames for staff and others associated with U-M Hospitals. MCIT staff have written a front-end program to ITCS's uniqname creation system that they use to create the uniqnames. For assistance, contact the MCIT Help Desk at (734) 936-8000 or umhs-helpdesk@med.umich.edu.
U-M Hospitals staff do not receive the Basic Computing Package unless they request it from the ITCS Accounts Office. They generally use computing services provided by MCIT instead.
Note: Hospitals staff refer to the uniqname and password as "uniqname and Level 1 password."
Medical School faculty and staff follow the same procedures for getting uniqnames as other faculty and staff on the Ann Arbor campus.
