Your operating system is the software that runs your computer.
Click anywhere on the computer's desktop (not within an open window or on an icon) and then click on the apple icon in the upper-left corner of the screen. Click About This Mac.
Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > System. The System Properties window will open. You will find your system information under the General tab.
